Michelle Bourg

Speaker Bio:

As director of Entergy’s gas distribution business, Michelle Bourg oversees all operations related to delivery of natural gas to nearly 200,000 customers in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Michelle began her Entergy career in transmission operations in 2002, first as an engineer and then as manager. She later served as director of utility performance metrics, where she was responsible for helping employees monitor and improve performance results.  In 2013, Michelle directed a companywide organizational design and improvement initiative before becoming director of the gas distribution business in 2014.  Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Tulane University, and she is a registered professional engineer in Louisiana. Michelle and her husband Jonathan have three children.

Abstract:

Michelle will briefly recount the complete rebuilding of New Orleans’ natural gas distribution system following Hurricane Katrina’s devastation in 2005. As a native of New Orleans, Michelle also will use her lifelong experience to share with symposium attendees her tips for having the best possible experience while staying in the Crescent City.
