Greg Corbett, P.E.
Greg started his career as an environmental consultant in Atlanta and he now has over 23 years of experience in the environmental field since his first internship in 1993. Over the last eight years, he has been leading Southern Company Gas’ environmental and sustainability programs for all Local Distribution Companies (i.e. Atlanta Gas Light and Nicor Gas) and all non-regulated businesses within the Southern Company Gas (formerly AGL Resources) footprint. He oversees operational compliance with environmental regulations within eleven states, 46 MGP sites across five states (he directly manages 14 of these sites across GA, NC, and FL), and is actively engaged in methane emission reduction efforts and reporting across the company’s footprint and other sustainability initiatives.
Prior to joining Southern Company Gas, Greg led several environmental and safety programs at Delta Air Lines and helped start Delta’s sustainability program, including carbon emission reduction programs corporate recycling initiatives. Greg received Delta’s highest award, The Chairman’s Club, for championing several large projects during the company’s bankruptcy restructuring and Northwest Airlines acquisition.
Greg received a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 1995. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia. He is active with the American Gas Association’s environmental committees, the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, and the Chattahoochee Nature Center. He is also an ambassador for the Georgia Chamber and Co-Chair for the MGP Consortium. He has a wonderful wife who keeps him in line and two great kids; 6 and 3.
